How Did You Find out About the 2017 Startup Challenge and What Lessons Has Your Team Learned, and Are Learning, While Preparing for Your Presentation?

We have been talking with the Proximus Space Week Team for over a year now. We chose not to enter last year because we were at feasible idea stage, now we have a working service and secondly because we felt there was limited focus on applications and downstream, that is shifting slowly. Lessons learned, have been on this journey since May 2014 when the 3 of us first brainstormed this idea, too many lessons to list but I guess perseverance is one.

What Is the Background of Spottitt’s Top Management?

Lucy Kennedy - engineering background then transitioned to project management for channel marketing activities for high-tech companies, now Spottitt CEO.

Marcello Deplano - engineering background then transitioned into renewables, now Spottitt CMO.

Paolo Senes - Financial background but the entrepreneur in him surfaced in 2008 when he purchased the Belgium ERP software development company M-Soft (now known as Optimize Group), now Spottitt CFO.

Marcello and I know each other from our engineering days working for P&G on the then new to the world Ariel washing tablet production lines in Belgium. Marcello then went off to do an MBA at INSEAD when he met Paolo, some years later when my husband needed to do a thesis for his MBA Marcello introduced him to Paolo and the circle was complete.

What Are Spottitt's Growth Objectives over the next 5 Years?

Spottitt Objectives - By year 3 >2 Million GBP revenue, >240 customers, expand to provide services in 2 new sectors on top of renewables.

How Will Winning LSW 2017 Startup Challenge Support These Growth Objectives?

As a startup heading for transition to commercial operations winning this will:

Help open the doors to potential customers needing on demand automated remote sensing analysis services in sectors outside of renewables.

Introduce us to investors with a passion and understanding of space and space applications.
